| Humourous teaching story: | When you heat proteins up they change shape or denature. To demonstrate this I set up a bunsen burner in front of the class. I then crack an egg into a frying pan and as it fries the students get a visual impression of the effects of heat on proteins. To finish off, I slap the egg in a snadwich with some ketchup and demonstrate to the class how tasty chemistry can be |
