The Dissection

The Gerbil Dissection

Why
The gerbils were originally bought for dissection for A-level Biology lessons. They were never bought as 'pets', but as scientific teaching aids, albeit living ones

When?
One of them- and Dr Sanderson will select the weakest-, will be dissected in lab 40 next week- probably on Tuesday. It is an A-level Biology demonstration, but interested students from other years are welcome to attend

Won't it hurt?
There is no evidence to suggest that gerbils feel pain in the same way as people. However, a vet has been contacted, and will come to the school in order to 'put the gerbil to sleep'. Mr Franklin had offered to perform this operation for us using a goldfish bowl and some chlorine gas, but Dr Sanderson decided to use some Science Faculty funds to pay for the vet.

Which one?
Although the weakest of the gerbils should be used (survival of the fittest etc) we recognize that some students have become attached to Copper and Zinc. Therefore, use the vote panel below if you have a preference for which one should be sacrificed in the name of science.
