The Sprowston High School Credit System
At Sprowston, work that is considered to be of a good standard is awarded a green credit slip. Students pass these onto their form tutor, and a congratulatory letter is sent home when a certain number of credits have been achieved.
All students receive credits. A large proportion of the class receive them when books are marked. Many teachers will award a handful in a lesson for good efforts, helpful assistance to others, responding to questions etc. Many students amass large numbers (eg over 50) in an academic year.
And GOLD ?
- GOLD credits are awarded only very rarely for exceptional work.
- GOLD credits are awarded publicly by the subject teacher in front of the class!
- The recipient is photographed receiving their GOLD credit from their subject teacher, and the photo is displayed in science laboratories on the Wall of GOLD.
- The photograph and the reasons for the award are displayed on this website. Student names are NOT used.
